However, my favourite quote over the Easter period has come from Revd Richard Coles. On hearing news of the death of the great Poly Styrene former singer with X-Ray Spex, Richard sent the following tweet:
Have just heard of the death of Poly Styrene - may flights of angels hymn her to her rest. RIP, and , in Easter Hope, Oh Death , Up YOURS!I was wondering whether we could use this in some Easter liturgy. How about:
Alleluia! Christ is risen!
Oh death, Up yours!

You're not gonna get a sax player that good in every church. Best you can get at the Beaker folk is a kazoo, and that's not the same thing at all.
Where can I sign up to trial this piece of experimental liturgy?
The Church of England: still able to attract a better class of communard, eh?
I was moved by the death of Poly Styrene. I'm still preparing the Ethyl Benzene conversion to Styrene polymerisation tribute and I am reminded by your post of that comment by Nietzche: "God is dead"/Nietzche and the repost by God: Nietzche is Dead - God. Of course in today's liturgy God would have said, "Up Yours!" I'm trying to put a 'betwixt, bothered and bewildered' tribute to Frank Sinatra, but the Royal Wedding has put me back to the Prayer Book. Might have more luck with the JP2 liturgy coming up soon.
If you're in the mood, there is a famous 'Up yours' by Sir Sydney Rough-Diamond in Carry on Up the Khyber. Not PC, but what the heck.
Good luck with your move.
